European Journal of Parapsychology, Vol 24.2, 2009, börjar med The feeling of being stared at: a parapsychological classic with a facelift, av S Müller, S Schmidt och H Walach, som kombinerar att någon stirrar på avstånd och det mäts med EDA hos personen som blir stirrad på, och att personen själv också får gissa när det inträffar. Det blev inga signifikanta effekter, utom en post hoc analys, en kombinationseffekt som blev signifikant, en av de ”conscious report variables approached significance for the interaction between staring and distraction in the predicted direction”.  Distraktionen innebar att den som stirrade, i hälften av sessionerna också fick en uppgift som skulle distrahera dem.

Sedan följer Exploring the links between nocturnal hallucinatory experiences and personality characteristics, av Alejandro Parra & Luis Espinoza Paul. Boken A review of ”The Parapsychological revolution: a concise anthology of paranormal and psychical research” by Robert M Schoch och Logan Yonavjak (2008), varav Schoch är associate professor vid universitetet i Boston och Yonavjak har kontakter med Rhine research Center. Sist anmäls boken The gold leaf lady and other parapsychological investigations, av Stephen Braude (2007).

Dansk Tidsskrift for psykisk Forskning, maj 2010,  informerar först om föredragen i höst, My experiences as a vision quest leader, med Stephen Gallegos, USA, Mitt liv med ånderne del II, Parapykologien og drömmen, Hvad sker der mellem död og genfödsel, Hvad de så i dödsöjeblikket (med islänningen Erlendur Haraldsson), den hemmelige ki-energi (som de menar kan vara samma energi som i psykokinesi och som shamaner känt till i tusentals år och som de menar kanske också kan användas i healing), Meeting the animal of healing (Dr Stephen Gallegos, USA), Erlendur Haraldsson skriver om En vision af en engel, Kaare Claudewitz och Britta Westhausen om Eksperimenter med clairvoyance IV, Försök med lokalisering af forsvundne personer, Erlendur fortsätter om Indridasons og Swedenborgs remote viewing oplevelser (Ildebrand i Köpenhamn og Stockholm). Jean-Jaques Walter, Univ. of Paris avslutar med A study of hypnosis and telepathy.

Steven Trankle börjar med Dream manifestations: a paranormal experience?, Lance Storm och Adam Rock fortsätter med Shamanic-like journeying and psi: I. Imagery cultivation, paranormal belief, and the picture-identification task, sedan följer Lynette Ferris och Adam Rock med Mental boundaries, staring detection and phenomenology: a synthesised ganzfeld and remote staring study.

Bland böcker som anmäls: The spiritual anatomy of emotion: how feelings link the brain, the body, and the sixth sense av Michael Jawer med Marc Micozzi, och The psychology of paranormal belief: a researcher’s handbook, av Harvey Irwin. Andra böcker som nämns är Psychological scientific perspectives on out of body and near death experiences, av Craig Murray (ed.) och Synchronicity: Multiple perspectives on meaningful coincidence, av Lance Storm (ed.).

Journal of Consciousness Studies, nr 3-4 mars-april 2010, ett dubbelnummer som har tema Philosophers facing phenomenal consciousness, med några få inslag av visst intresse. Dennet är ett välkänt namn, berörs i Dennet’s theory of the folk theory of consciousness, skrivet av Justin Sytsma.

Bland regular refereed Papers finns ConsScale: A pragmatic scale for measuring the level of consciousness in artifical agents, av Arrabales, Ledezma & Sanchis, vidare, kanske klart mer intressant, The physics of consciousness, av Wolfgang Baer.

Journal of Consciousness Studies, nr 5-6 2010, har tema ”simultaneity and serial order”. Potentiellt intressanta artiklar: The role of unconsciousness in free will (Paula Droege), How to make mind-brain relations clear (Mostyn Jones). Tre konferensrapporter: A conference and a question – report on consciousness and spirituality II, Mediation: neuroscience approaches and philosophical implications, februari i Freiburg, lång utförlig rapport från årets consciousness-konferens i Tucson i april, där även Adrian Parker var med och höll i en workshop om William James insatser.  Slutligen en konferens om olika teorier för att förstå medvetandet. Flera böcker anmäls.

Journal of Scientific Exploration, vol 24, spring 2010. Har rapport om experiment om viktminskningar i samband med döden diskuteras i Rebuttal to claimed refutations of Duncan MacDougal’s Experiment om Human weight change at the moment of death, av Masatoshi IShida, Dong Shen fortsätter om Unexpected behavior of matter in conjunction with human consciousness, sedan Adam Rock och Fiona Permezel om randomized expectancy-enhanced placebo-controlled trial of the impact of quantum bioenergetics and mental boundaries on affect, och Jürgen Keil avslutar forskningsartiklarna med A case of the reincarnation type in Turkey suggesting strong paranormal information involvements.

Jürgen Keil har också ett inlägg om ”reinkarnationsuppföljning”, Questions of the reincarnation type, inlägg av Vitor Moura Visoni, How to improve the study and documentation of cases of the reincarcnation type?. A reapparaisal of the case of Kemal Atasoy. Journal of Scientific Exploration,  Nr 2, 2010, inleds med Importance of a Psychosocial approach for a comprehensive understanding of mediumship, av Everton Maraldi, Fatima Regina Machado och Wellington Zangari, Carlos Alvarado fortsätter med Investigating mental mediums: research suggestions from the historical literature, Michael Grosso fortsätter om Advantages of being multiplex, Emily Wiliams Kelly om Some directions for mediumship research, Renaud Evrard om Parapsychology in France after may 1968: a history of GERP, Jürgen Keil, Jim Tucker diskuterar How to improve the study and documentation of cases of the reincarnation type, a reappraisal of the case of Kemal Atasoy, med Vitor Moura Visoni, Nils O Jacobson (som kommenterar ryktena om att han vägt en själ när denna lämnade kroppen, vilket han alltså inte gjort) och Frank Pollard.

Slutligen publiceras utlysning av stipendier som berör oss: stipendier som John Björkhems Minnesfond ger via Helene Reeder Memorial Fund, for research into life after death. Ansökningar ska ha inkommit senast 30 oktober 2010.

Journal of Near-death Studies, vol 28, spring 2010. I guest editorial skriver Ken Vincent The search for God and Afterlife in the age of sciences. Den entusiastiska kan också läsa ur redaktörens förord där han/hon kommenterar de olika inläggen, det jag brukar använda mig av. En artikel ingår sedan, liksom en bokanmälan: Carlos Alvarado skriver om Online resources for the history of out-of-body experiences and death-related phenomena. Boken som anmäls är Signs: A new approach to coincidence, synchronicity, guidance, life purpose, and God’s plan, av Robert Perry – kanske inte så vetenskapligt, mer personligt?

Vital signs, vol 29, summer 2010 innehåller reklam och info inför deras konferens i september i Denver, P M H Atwaters avskedsord inför att hon drar sig tillbaka efter många års verksamhet på ndu-området och efter flera böcker hon skrivit efter att ha fått ”uppdrag” på detta i en NDU! Sharon Lund kåserar under rubriken Dancing with life and death. En av de ledande personerna Diane Corcoran intervjuar sedan Sharon Lund om When children have near-death experiences.

Journal of Parapsychology, spring 2010, inleds med en intressant kommentar/inlägg från Charles Tart om Reflections on the experimenter problem in parapsychology. Det följs av 2009 Presidential address av Etzel Cardena, The possible future of parapsychology with some help from regression to the hypnotic past, en ”invited address” av Charles Tart, Toward evidence-based spirituality, och en sista invited address, av Vernon Neppe, Déjà Vu: origins and phenomenology: implications of the four subtypes for future research. Bland artiklar finns två svenska bidrag: dels Adrian Parker och Björn Sjödén med Do some of us habituate to future emotional event?, samt Jan Dalkvist, William Montgomery,  Henry Montgomery och Joakim Westerlund med reanalyses of group telepathy data with a focus on variablity, två rapporter vi självklart gärna redogör för ytterligare. Därutöver finns Paranormal belief, Schizotypy, and transliminality, av Gary Munley, Andrew parker och Ken Drinkwater.

Både den första boken av Tart, handboken om ndu-er och den av Murray skulle förstås vara intressanta att skriva lite mer om.

Journal of the Society for Psychical Research, April 2010, inleds med The acoustic properties of unexplained rapping sounds, av Barrie Colvin, därefter What the animals have to say: conceptual frameworks, commonalities,  and tensions in professional animal psi research and lay-animal psychic communication, av Carl Williams och Diane Dutton, Adrian Parker rapporterar sedan A ganzfeld study using Identical twins.

Bland böcker som anmäls: The South shields poltergeist: One family’s fight against an invisible intruder, av Michael Hallowell och Darren Ritson, Poltergeist: a classical study in destructive hauntings, av Colin Wilson, Alec Harris: The full story  of his remarkable physical mediumship, av Louie Harris. (Marthe Béraud) av Mary Rose Barrington, Carlos Alvarado fortsätter med Historical notes on doubles and travelling spirits: V – Adolphe d’assier’s ideas of doubles. Jach Hunter ansluter med Talking with the spirits: more than a social reality?, Sedan Lew Sutton och Helen Duncan’s séances: some noteworthy accounts. Därefter följer Ketih Beasley med Conference report: Exploring the extraordinary – 31st October 2009, Department of Sociology, University of York, och Chris and Becky Jensen Romer med A review of the SPRs 58th study day: poltergeists outbreaks, then and now. Fortsätter sedan med Tom Tuffles och Mr Dixon and the mysterious bell ringing case of 1887. Numret avslutas med Book review: Amazing encounters: direct communication from the afterlife, av Elizabeth Nowotny-Keane, av John Ralphs.
