Dan Brown and his book "The Lost Symbol" will be the focus of a special "Dateline" exclusive tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 16, at 9:00pm. NBC News's Matt Lauer will interview Brown about the symbolism in his book, the beliefs of the Freemasons, and "noetic science." IONS President Marilyn Mandala Schlitz and the work of the Institute will be featured in the hour-long report. CBS News will be on campus tomorrow to film for an upcoming show, and Psychology Today highlighted Marilyn and the Institute's work in an online October 12 feature story (http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/tribal-intelligence/200910/the-lost-symbol-intention-goes-mainstream-part-one).

Last Monday's show on NPR's "All Things Considered" (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=113676181&ps=cprs) was "a huge hit," receiving more than 500,000 page views! It was the largest response that an NPR program has ever received. The next most popular story that day had 27,000 hits. The program feed was also featured on Yahoo!'s front page.

A New Teleseminar Series: As many of you may know, IONS has started a special twelve-week "noetic science" teleseminar series for monthly members. It began on October 7 with series host Marilyn Mandala Schlitz giving a live interview in Washington, DC, the location of Brown's thriller. It now features prerecorded interviews with leading noetic scientists from our rich library of interviews, teleseminar programs, and presentations at the 2009 IONS Conference. Each prerecorded program is followed by a live, guided discussion, creating a space to share your insights, thoughts, and feelings about the powers and potentials of noetic science.
