Greetings!
This month, you may have been graced to take notice of
1:11 or 11:11 on 1.1.11 or 1.11.11, especially if you have a digital
clock! Who DIDN'T find fascination with these
symbolic "doorways" appearing before our eyes??
My own reflection on this playful visual, so aligned with the spirit
of possibility inherent in a new year, was gratitude for the precious
gift of choice.
I am grateful for the choice
made at year-end by many community members to give extra financial
support in a time of critical need for ISSSEEM. I am grateful
to allied organizations choosing to work toward a more comprehensive
model of healthcare and awareness of subtle energies' healing power
for everyone. I am grateful for people like Darin (see spotlight
below) who bring both spirit and ideals to the mighty work that
requires so many hands and hearts. I am grateful for the
leaders responsible for choosing how the brightest of possible
futures will unfold for the ISSSEEM. And I am grateful to be part
of a community of healers, teachers, researchers, and explorers who
choose to lead their lives from a place of sacred interconnectedness.
What distinguishes us from all
other forms of life is the capacity to weigh options, tune to
guidance, and make conscious, deliberate choices. With
more doorways than ever showing up in front of us, we're being
invited to make thoughtful choices that will lead to new actions and
new outcomes.
Just what is behind door
number 1, 2 or 3? Stay tuned.
"Your imagination is your preview of life's
coming attractions."

Blesses,
Denise

Volunteer Spotlight
ISSSEEM thrives on the
enthusiasm and support of its members and volunteers. We value
and appreciate each and everyone who lends a helping hand. The
significant contributions of our volunteer staff are essential
for smooth operation and continued success.
Each volunteer has their own
story to tell. This month I would like to introduce you to Darin
Stahl.
Through a friend, supportive of my bodywork practice, I
was invited to the Council Grove Conference for the first time in
March of 2009. It was a life-changing experience all around!
There, I delivered a session on Biodynamic Cranial Touch (a heart
based Cranial practice), met Denise Lewis Premschak and Scott Anderson
and learned of ISSSEEM. The information exchange and
interaction with the CG community was amazing. Then, I was
asked to serve on the Program Committee for the June 2010 ISSSEEM
conference. I loved exchanging ideas and working with the
amazing people on the committee toward such a phenomenal event!
I currently serve as a member of
the Program Committee for 2011 and have taken an active role in
discussions with leadership around the future of ISSSEEM. A few
of the points made in these discussions were: 1)
ISSSEEM's worldview is one of the things that makes us unique.
2) A Good Theory is one that supports the evidence. 3) A Bad
Theory is one that supports some of the evidence but not all of the
evidence. 3) An Outrageous Theory is one that supports none of
the evidence. A Bad theory is one that doesn't take
consciousness into account, in my opinion; it could be
downright Outrageous!
Those who love this organization
realize the importance of its mission . Voicing our theories
and opinions is very important and ISSSEEM is a premier forum through
which a consciousness-based view of the universe can be shared with
the world - an optimistic and inclusive worldview, with science
to back it up. And that is not just worth sharing and supporting-it's
time we roll up our sleeves and throw some punches!
Darin Stahl is a martial artist,
body worker, licensed massage therapist and subtle energy
practitioner. Darin has created a unique approach to
homeostasis, combining modalities that address the physical, subtle,
and causal energy bodies. He began studying bodywork at an
early age learning palpation and Osteopathic manipulation from his
father. But it was the Burmese martial art of Bando and the
healing systems it contained that brought Darin back to his roots.

White Silk,
Dark Chocolate, and a Little Bit of Magic: Life is good and we are
good in it
by Barbara Herrick
In a few years, over 37 million
women born during the baby boom will be 50 or older. Their new.
post-feminist motto might well be:
We have places to go that
require a wilderness of spirit - and shoes to match.
It may not be easy to grow older
in this country, but any woman in her 'glory years' will tell you
that age isn't what it used to be. It is a time of fullness and
empowerment. It is a time to throw off restraint and celebrate life
with the 'don't-give-a-damn' attitude that defines a generation. Age
is freedom calibrated by experience - wisdom unleashed by wit.
"We enter our glory years
full-tilt, our heads and hearts high. Our midyears are when we
finally find our place and our peace, when we are powerful, when we
are well and well-rewarded, when we're the best at what we do, when
we discover that life is good, and we are good in it."
Embrace the age of adventure,
this bold little book is the ideal gift for any occasion in a mature
woman's life.

Wake Up - the film
Jonas Elrod was leading an
ordinary life until he woke up one day to a totally new reality. He
suddenly could see and hear angels, demons, auras and ghosts.
The documentary movie WAKE UP
follows this fascinating story of an average guy who inexplicably
developed the ability to access other dimensions. Physicians gave him
a clean bill of health and were unable to provide an explanation.
What was it? Why was it happening to him? One thing was certain for
this 36-year old man - life as he had known it would never be the
same.
With his loving but skeptical
girlfriend by his side, Jonas crisscrosses the country as he searches
for answers and delves deeper into this thrilling world of the
phenomenal and spiritual. Along the way, he encounters an amazing
group of religious teachers, scientists, mystics and spiritual
healers who help him piece together this intricate puzzle.
The film shows how all of us can
search inward for our own peace and happiness while contributing
towards a positive shift in global consciousness. WAKE UP is a call
to consciousness to everyone who sees it; an invitation to accept
that there is more to this life than meets the eye.
